NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE / SUSPENDED

The Situation: Deputy observes a vehicle driving on I-595 changing lanes multiple times without using the turning signals. Upon making contact with the driver, the Deputy learns that the driver does not have a valid driver’s license. 

Result: Motion to suppress all evidence for unlawfully stopping the Defendant was GRANTED; case dismissed. 

The Situation: Deputy stops vehicle for infraction and upon making contact with Defendant requests Florida Driver’s License. Defendant is not a citizen or resident of the United States, but does have a valid Driver’s License from his country.

Result: Case dismissed without trial or hearing required. 

 The Situation: Officer stops vehicle for infraction and upon making contact with Defendant requests Florida Driver’s License. Officer learns that the Defendant’s Florida license has been revoked because his work visa has expired.

Result: State agreed to change the charge and dismiss the DWLS.
